Hunter was absolutely one of the main reasons why our wedding ran so smoothly! He did an incredible job MC'ing the night as well as playing all the music we talked about. He is extremely detailed and I loved that we had a meeting a couple of months before hand to talk about my vision. Would give 10 stars if I could!

My wife and I used Aloha Event DJ for our wedding on Oahu very recently- we cannot thank Hunter and his crew enough for the fantastic experience they provided, from the preparation through to the event itself. We had dozens of our guests compliment us on the music and MC services that Aloha Event DJ provided, and we would highly, highly recommend anyone looking for a DJ and/or event MC to strongly consider Hunter/Aloha Event DJ.

Hunter made the preparation, song choices, and event setup extremely easy and stress free. We received a questionnaire and had multiple meetings through zoom with Hunter to make sure everything was set up how we wanted. Hunter had great suggestions and is clearly a very experienced and skilled DJ/MC. Prices and optional extras like a projector were very reasonably priced for the industry on Oahu, no complaints there at all. Would give 10 stars if I could!

Hunter was beyond amazing and helpful!
I am a skeptic of reviews, however all the reviews on this website are spot on, hence I am here writing one today. Hunter was beyond amazing and helpful. We had no idea going into wedding planning how to pick music and Hunter made it an absolute breeze. He was personable, helpful, and made the entire process enjoyable. We opted to upgrade off the base package and get the up lights, this added an additional wow factor to our wedding dance floor! His MC skills helped move the wedding along in the reception and we are grateful for him. We will be recommending him to all friends and family that need a DJ for any Hawaii events. Thank you again Hunter for making our day so special.

Hunter MC'd and DJ'd for our wedding, and he was amazing. He came highly recommended from our wedding planner, and met the high bar. For a MC and DJ, I think a key to success (beyond the basics of being able to entertain and DJ) is reading the room -- understanding how the hosts and guest feel and how the mood of the party is going. He delivered with an A. I would love to have him as an MC at any party.

Aloha Event DJ was recommended to us by our wedding venue, and Hunter did a fantastic job! We had ended up making our own playlists for both the cocktail hour and reception, and we were kind of nervous with the outcome because our music was all EDM, but Hunter mixed everything perfectly and the dance floor was packed the entire time. All the guests had such great things to say about Hunter and the music, and everyone loved the photo booth that came with the package!! Highly recommend Hunter with Aloha Event DJ!!! Especially if you also like EDM and want that kind of music at your wedding.

Hunter was an incredible DJ for our Hawaii wedding. He was extremely patient as we walked through our music preferences and timeline. In fact, he had all the details before our planner even walked through it with us, and he helped us think through key considerations in detail. And he really delivered day-of. Mics were perfect for ceremony and speeches. The music was right on queue (including one of the more difficult drop timings that we really wanted to start the night). And he got people adequately hyped up at the right spots while having just the right amount of stoke at the other times. And he played two high energy songs at the end before the closer--perfection.

The photobooth was also well beyond expectations. The attendant was so friendly and helpful and the pictures were high-quality -- with great lighting, especially given we were outdoors at night. The interface was also seamless: instant printed photos and access online immediately for social media posts, with the full set of photos delivered the next day. I would not hesitate to get your photobooth with Hunter as part of the package.

Finally, we didn't notice the uplights on the palm trees during the event. But in pictures, they were fabulous. Really made the venue look much more magical at night and absolutely necessary.

It's hard to imagine how our DJ selection could have been any better than Aloha Event DJ. We were very happy that we went with Hunter and would recommend him to anyone else looking for the best wedding DJ in Hawaii.

My husband and I got married this past January in Maui, HI at Gather on Maui. During the planning process we came across Hunter’s website and loved the positive reviews and his past experience. We reached out and he was super responsive and answered all our questions thoroughly. We booked him for our wedding and could not have been happier. Hunter completely exceeded our expectations. He was respectful of our wishes/vision throughout the whole process. He was a fantastic MC throughout the whole event and the music was exactly what we wanted. Even more, we are a couple that loves a huge variety of music and Hunter was able to take the songs and genres we chose and pick where they would be most fitting throughout the reception. He blended everything so well. We got feedback from all our guests that our DJ was “amazing” and comments like “the dinner music was really good”. Everyone had a blast dancing. We also had a few last minute changes and Hunter was understanding and flexible. My husband and I were very impressed. Hunter at Aloha Event DJ did an AMAZING job as the DJ/Emcee for our wedding at Paliku Gardens, Kualoa Ranch in October 2024! Despite my wife and I residing in the UK (11hr time difference), Hunter really simplified the planning/coordination process for us, which definitely helped ease some of our wedding planning stress. We really only needed to talk to Hunter one time before the actual wedding, as he was able to visualize/execute exactly what we wanted for our wedding day. Following the wedding, many of our guests commented on how smooth the wedding went, to include the perfect volume of music (not too loud - not too quiet), friendliness/receptiveness of Hunter (while taking music requests) and clear communication during announcements.

Overall, I believe we made the perfect choice with Hunter and Aloha Event DJ. His kindness and professionalism throughout the entirety of the wedding process was exceptional. 100% recommend for any type of event!

Amazing Job!
We knew about Hunter from seeing him at my best friend's (my co-MOH's) wedding and we liked the way he worked! Hunter was our DJ and MC for our wedding and he and his team did an amazing job!
Over the months leading up to the wedding, Hunter would respond to our emails right away and was very friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. We really appreciate that he allowed us to add in some final additional requests (cold sparks, newly added songs) to our package super last minute, and appreciated how patient he was after my husband and I took forever confirming all of our music lol (sorry, Hunter, thank you so much again!) On the day of the wedding, he remained super professional and friendly! The waiting time before the ceremony lasted longer than planned and he managed to make the music/emceeing sound as if no delays happened at all. He did an awesome job and made every part of the wedding go smoothly, from the processional all the way to the end! My husband and all of our friends had a really fun time dancing all the way to the end of the night and we got compliments on how they were able to dance to all the songs that played! He was also really good at reading the crowd and managed to get some of the older folks to get up and dance to a ton of fun songs they loved, too! Hunter always had a smile on his face and was also super calm and composed. He handled everything so well as he worked with our other vendors (coordinator, officiant, photographer/videographer) to make sure everything ran smoothly, which helped us remain calm as well and not worry about anything. We are so thankful to have had him as our DJ/emcee and wouldn't have had it any other way! The services he provided were outstanding. Thank you so much again, Hunter and team!

Incredibly great and thorough DJ!
DJ Hunter was great to work with! When we first started discussing things wiht him, he provided a questionnaire that was incredibly thorough and helped us parse the kind of music and vibes we wanted for each portion of our wedding. We even asked him to mix 2 different versions of songs into one for our first dance and he made a mix that just works so brilliantly. He really thinks of what's required in a wedding in an audio equipment perspective - he brought everythign that was required! He had lavallers hookes up on us for everyone to hear our vows, mics for any speeches made by family, and dance lighting for the dance party portion.

Sweetest dj
Hunter was so down for our crazy-ness and has the best "lets do it" attitude. You can tell by talking to him that he loves what he does and he really feels out the crowd to make the music work with the mood and get the party started.
We were one of those weddings that had to postpone because of covid, not once but twice. Hunter stayed with us through it all! One of the best things that Hunter did was helping us plan our grand entrance. We wanted to time out my me and my wife's entrance to the song "Past Lives" by BORNS. Hunter mixed the song for us so that our bridal party went down to the slow part and looped it so it always was just the slow part for them and when the song got faster he timed it perfectly for us to cue up our Jurassic Park jeeps (Yah, that's right we got Jurassic Park jeeps for this!) pulling up and us walking down the aisle. Our ceremony and Reception locations were different but he made it all possible by having his mobile set up at the ceremony location and be ready to play with his full set up at the reception when the guests arrived. He even dealt with our friends who were really intense about song requests! He filtered out the bad requests and only kept the good! He also made sure that the microphone we used at the ceremony worked and sounded great so everyone could hear our voices without straining one bit! He ALSO mixed the 2 Father/Daughter songs together. I was really fixated on having the two songs not full length and mix in the middle and he did it perfectly without any weird lag in between songs. It was awesome. A nice touch that he provides is uplighting for the gorgeous tree at our reception which you wouldn't think would be a DJ thing but it was so awesome to have! I would highly recommend Hunter. He'll take good care of you!

Hunter Killed It
I can’t say enough good things about our experience with Hunter. He was so great to work with! In the wedding planning phase he was super professional and responsive. He also has a really nice demeanor. During the wedding, he had THE BEST energy and mixed our playlists so well. The dance floor was packed pretty much the entire time. Hunter brought all this great energy but at the same time conveyed a “behind the scenes” vibe. He was the opposite of the obnoxious DJ who blathers on in the microphone and distracts from the wedding couple. Also, he has zero cheese vibe. Oh, and he has an excellent sound system which is kind of everything.

Hunter was wonderful for our wedding! We had an original wedding date in September 2020 but that obviously didn't happen. We changed our wedding date TWO MORE TIMES and Hunter was so accommodating each time. My husband and I had a great experience working with Hunter during our wedding and the planning process. We relied on him to provide the sound system for our reception, the projector/screen for our slideshow, the photobooth (which was a big hit), and of course the music for our multiple special dances! He worked with us on our playlist and even provided my husband with a good mother/son song to dance too. His selection of songs during the dancing portion of the reception was spot on and people were dancing until the very end of the night. He was so easy to work with and reasonably priced. On the night he was excellent. He did a great job of reading the room and welcoming requests (including some Aussie classics!), making sure that all of our guests had a wonderful night on the dance floor. We hired Aloha Event DJ for our DJ, MC and photo booth services for our wedding at Kapolei Golf Club on 4/22/22. Hunter was super responsive, professional and friendly during the whole process! We loved that we could get the DJ (with lighting), MC, and photobooth services all in one package. We were planning this wedding without a coordinator in WA state so we weren't sure what we were doing all the time. We had a few zoom meetings with Hunter beforehand to go over our music and program preferences. He even helped us create a timeline to keep the reception itinerary and MC announcements organized and on schedule. He was quick to respond to last minute changes, we never had a hard time getting a hold of him.

The day of the wedding so much was going on that we didn't have much time to check in with Hunter before everything started, but his team was all set up and ready to go! The ceremony and reception sound was smooth and everyone had a ton of fun during our dance party! We gave him a playlist of songs/vibes we liked and he made sure to keep the crowd moving pretty much the whole night! The photo booth also went off without a glitch and we got all our guest's photos sent to us a few week later. We definitely recommend Aloha Event DJ! We literally didn't have to worry about a single thing during the wedding- Hunter had everything covered! Thank you so much :)

We are soooo happy we went with Aloha Events DJ/Hunter for our wedding at Kualoa Ranch. It is very obvious that Hunter loves his job and has a passion for music. We gave him a few guidelines for the vibe we wanted during our reception and he ABSOLUTELY delivered! We got tons of compliments on our DJ all night, and after the wedding. Added bonus - Hunter is incredibly professional and has great vibes!
Also (I didn’t realize how important this is for a DJ until after our ceremony), Hunter could not have timed our “introduction” to the wedding reception with the music drop in our intro song any better. We chose a non-traditional intro song, and it was obvious Hunter had practiced to get the announcements at the perfect length to match the beat drop. It was perfect!!

Amazing Experience
Without Hunter our wedding could have been a bit of a nightmare. Both my wife and myself were winging everything and had no idea on how to schedule a wedding or a reception. My wife and I got married on Oahu at Kualoa Ranch’s Jamanji site in January of 2022. Hunter from Aloha Event DJ was who we ended up choosing to be our DJ, and boy are we so glad we chose him! Everything was handled professionally and he was so friendly and accommodating. We’re from the Midwest and LOVE to dance and after attending many, many weddings throughout the years this was by far the best DJ/MC service we’ve experienced. Hunter kept the dance floor LIT 🔥 all night, put up with our random requests, and went out of his way to ensure everyone was having the best time. He was professional, courteous, timely and even handle the ceremony, dinner,  etc. perfectly. We cannot recommend him enough and if you’re honesty looking elsewhere for DJ services we strongly encourage you to go with Aloha Event DJ. We’re so glad we did and had the time of our lives!

We had Aloha Event DJ for our music and emcee services for our wedding this past May - and we were SO glad to have Hunter as one of our vendors! We met Hunter at a wedding expo and knew he would be great to work with, even from the first meeting. Hunter is incredibly personably and helpful. He was always quick to respond and kept me on track with music and the program amidst the chaos of the rest of the wedding planning. He made several music recommendations for us, specific to our taste in music, and created a perfect atmosphere with lighting for the dancing portion of the program. He even created a customized mix for us for our first dance! He was always incredibly courteous as well, even when I made several changes to the music. It was great having him emcee so that we did not have to hire someone else for that. If in doubt, go with Aloha Event DJ! I cannot recommend Hunter enough!!

Amazing Wedding DJ!
Hunter was an awesome DJ for our wedding! He was accommodating for everything that we needed, very organized and professional. He was by far our easiest vendor to work with while planning our wedding. We left a lot of the music decisions up to him, and he made excellent choices to fit the mood of the wedding. He was also very accommodating for last minute changes. Would 100% book again!

Professional DJ!
Hunter was/is an amazing DJ! He is extremely professional. He keeps in constant contact with you regarding what you want. He answers all emails quickly and doesnt keep you waiting for long. He asked if I had a coordinator and gave him her number, and they kept in contact as well. If you dont know what you want regarding certain songs, he gives wonderful suggestions. We hired him not only to be a DJ, but for a photobooth and for the projector as well. From the beginning, the music for the ceremony was perfectly timed. It faded out well when I got to the end of the aisle. The recessional song played perfectly as I walked out of the aisle. Next comes the reception, the grand entrance song was perfect! And it was at a great volume, loud enough for everyone to hear but soft enough that it wouldn't disturb any neighbors. Then came the first dance as husband and wife. Here is where things went wrong. Hunter had accidentally played the wrong song as our first dance. I gave him a horrified look, and told him wrong song! He quickly realized his mistake and fixed it. Mistakes happen, nothing major. We danced and moved on to a special dance between my mother and father. He played their song and moved on. We did all of our games! For our shoe game, he brought a black and white hanky which we didnt expect. But thankfully he did, as it was hard for me to put my shoes on! Continuing on through the night, everything else went smoothly. He played all the right music and all the songs that were requested. The photobooth was beautiful. It had a pineapple background which was cute. Although, its not wedding style. Hunter's staff was very professional at the photobooth even though all my guests were drunk and rowdy. We did not get any photobooth props due to covid, but we supplied our own. The projector was big enough for everyone to see and the sound was amazing. Hunter did ask me in one of our emails, for everyone who spoke into a mic, to wear a mask. I did explain to hunter, that my mother is deaf and reads lips to communicate and understand everyone. He was very understanding and allowed my guests to speak without a mask. Hunter is a very professional DJ and Emcee. He did everything I asked, and even made last minute announcements. He doesn't do the small talk or side comments that some DJ's do which I appreciate it as he kept it classy which is what I was going for. I was told he even helped clean up a bit at the end of the wedding. Isn't that crazy? I would highly recommend Hunter for any event. He did an amazing job and looked good!

Thanks so much Aloha Event DJ!!! Hunter was the greatest wedding DJ we could have ever asked for!! He was super friendly and incredibly intuitive about the kinds of songs our wedding would need. He was also detail-oriented around the timeline of requested songs to play throughout our wedding night. For instance, we gave him a list of artists and playlists of 3 songs chosen by each of our friends and family. He made the atmosphere pop for each part of the ceremony! (No pun intended) We danced all night long. It was unforgettable and from many of our friends and family "the best wedding they've ever been too." This couldn't have been done without his skills and professionalism. The added touch was his MC services which helped keep us on track throughout the night. Keeps Everyone Dancing!
We were so fortunate to be able to have our wedding before the pandemic hit. Hunter from Aloha Event DJ was absolutely perfect for our wedding! The music during the ceremony was exactly what we wanted. We found music we liked and Hunter was able to edit and adjust it to fit our ceremony. He did our ceremony music, set up equipment for our live entertainment during our cocktail hour, and then kept everyone out on the dancefloor all night at the reception! He was also a great emcee which was a huge relief to have and very helpful to keep our whole program moving. All of our guests raved about how much fun they had and enjoyed every moment of it! We had a GREAT time at our wedding and can't thank Hunter enough for keeping everyone on the dance floor all night! Hunter was upfront, honest, reliable and an overall pleasure to work with. He was an amazing wedding vendor. He communicated better than any other vendor and answered any questions we had almost immediately. It was a pleasure working with him. He helped us with so much not only with DJ service but also wedding planning advice in general. The other thing that really impressed us was how up front he was with pricing. We found that a lot of vendors would not give you a quote unless you met with them and or gave them a lot of personal information. Hunter was fair and honest. He did not take advantage of us just because we were planning a wedding. Although we had some great vendors Hunter was my favorite vendor to work with. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a wedding DJ. I know he does other events too. I'm sure he is just as great with those as well. Highly recommend
We hired a different DJ at the start of my wedding planning, however I came across Aloha Event DJ on Instagram and was intrigued so I searched a little more and I liked what I saw so I eventually cancelled on our original DJ and went with Aloha Event DJ instead! Hunter was our DJ and our MC which is exactly what we wanted, instead of spending more money on two different services since we were on a tight budget. He was very accommodating and so friendly! He was very quick with responding and very thorough. I have never thought choosing music could be so difficult but he did make the entire process so much more easier. Played music for us at our initial meeting to get a taste of what kind of music my husband and I enjoyed, and I really did appreciate him taking the time to do that. My entire family danced all night long, and he took requests from our family with no problem! Even played some Filipino music haha! Nonetheless, Hunter was AWESOME and should we ever have another event that requires a DJ I will definitely be returning!
